Beginner's Walkthrough / Tutorial
Tutorial Condensed/Short Version
Welcome fellow adventurer to the official God Quest beginners tips and tutorial. Hopefully this is all you will need to start your amazing journey in the realm of Pasidera and start you off on your great adventure to becoming what everyone wants to be. Divinity, A GOD!
-Get a job at Professions (left menu) for when you log off.
-Activate Premium potion from Hero/Profile page.
-Go to SHOPPE on top menu and see if you can buy any equipment. If so go to hero page and equip it.
-Do a safety fight by clicking Random Challenge on left side menu. Click several times until you get a lower or equal level player to better your chances of winning. Now you are safe for 30 minutes from attacks.
-Now go to Explore the Countryside and do all explores.
-Go back to SHOPPE and buy some equipment including a guard animal and equip it.
-Go to Lucky's Hut on left menu and roll the dice to try and win some goodies.
-Fight some more players or go chat in the PUB chatbox or read the forum underneath it for tips/hints.
-Check out the Auction House. You can't sell there until level 8 for various reasons, but you'll familiarize yourself with the basics of it now.
-Before you log out, bank any extra gold in the Lottery (top of PUB page) or add it to your castle or place it in the Depository for safe keeping.
-When logging out click PROFESSION on left menu and put your Hero to work for 12 hours. You can interrupt this work if you come back sooner but will recieve gold for only the hours you've worked.
-That's it for now, you should be well on your way to mastering the basics of God Quest and the game mechanics.
Tutorial Long/Extended Version
First thing you need to do is start a profession, On the actions menu to the left, click "PROFESSIONS" and pick a job. Descriptions are in the manual at the top. Spend the 500 gold now so you will have a job to work at when you log off.
Now activate your premium by making sure you are on the player page and scrolling down to potions. click to activate 3 days of premium. :)
Go to the "SHOPPE" located on the top menu and see if you can afford a weapon yet or a shield, spellbook etc..
Now go do a safety fight. click "Random Challenge" from the actions menu to the left. click attack and beat 'em down. you will be safe for 30 minutes after you do this. 15 minutes for non premium players. You may win gold, herbs, gems and/or food if you win the battle and you can also lose these items if you lose the fight. Of note, as you advance, remember not to attack players more than 3 levels below you. The Gods will intervene on behalf of the defender and you will probably lose very badly as the GODS frown upon bullying.
Now from the actions menu to the left, click "LUCKY'S HUT" and roll the dice 30 times, (15 for non premium). This will cost you 180 gold at 6 a spin. but you may win a lot more than that. Free skill points, 3 day premium potionss and 5,000 gold deposited directly into your chest at the depository. Some days you will win several times and other days you will win nothing. It is just random luck of the dice.
At this time you have some skill points to spend building your stats. These can be assigned from your "HERO/PROFILE PAGE", the little graphical plus signs next to your five stats. Decide which way you want your Hero to go be it powerful, defensive, great stamina etc...and assign your skill points accordingly. There is no right or wrong way, however try to stay fairly well balanced at the beginning. After a few levels, look and see what others your level are doing and take it from there. Every 8 points in Power or Defense increases your attack or defense by one. Every 12 points in stamina gives you an extra battle round.
Now fight some more. Click "Random Challenge" from the left side actions menu again and keep clicking it until you find someone lower level and then click Challenge below their picture/avatar.
After a few battles, go "EXPLORE THE COUNTRYSIDE" from the actions menu on the left. you get 30 explores, 15 for non premium players. You can do all explores in quick succession, but afterwards will have to wait for your Explore meter to rejuvenate in order to do some more. You will find gold, experience points, skill points, food, stones and herbs while exploring and even new guard animals or special items.
Any questions, just go say hi in "THE PUB" from the top menu while you explore. There are all kinds of nice people in there and you might actually learn a thing or two about the game.
On items found exploring, in battle or won in "Lucky's Hut",
-gold buys items at "The Shoppe" or later in the Catacombs "Outfitters Outpost."
-Herbs rejuvenate your health. You use them by scrolling down on the player page to your inventory.
-Gems/stones are used by spell casters to rejuvenate their spell points.
-Food keeps you healthy. If your food guage reaches zero, then your health will slowly go down so have lots on you before logging out for extended periods.
-Skill points can be assigned to one of your 5 attributes.
-Special explore items can be equipped to help boost the power of your hero.
You should be done with your explores by now so go do another safety fight and go to the shoppe to buy equipment so that you can be competitive in your fights. Read up on your character class in the manual on the top menu to see what categories of items you can equip, then go to the "SHOPPE" and check out the gear. Try to buy the best of everything you can afford, and get a guard animal to. They help you do more damage in a fight and at higher levels they defend as well. Also, make investments in your special skills. they count in combat on and offline.
Go check out the Auction House to familiarize yourself with it.
After you are done playing for the day put some money into your castle or the "DEPOSITORY" or the Lottery if you have any gold left. You can deposit gold once every 12 hours and take money out as often as you like. Your chest only holds 150 gold per level, so try to manage your money so that you can spend it all before you go offline, but still have enough to store the max and save up for big ticket items.
CATACOMBS DUNGEON - Let the fun begin!!!
You will not go here until level 6 so save lots of money before then. Wandering the Catacombs can be quite costly at first for equipment like torches, chest keys, tents, remedies etc..Don't go down unprepared.
